Dr. Alexandra Best
Alexandra Best, DMD MSD, grew up in Buffalo, NY, and relocated to the Boston area in the summer of 2016 with her husband who is enrolled in the MBA program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is pleased to call ARCH Orthodontics her new home where she is helping patients feel confident in their new smiles.
Dr. Best says she chose to join the ARCH team “because the other doctors and staff care so much about their patients. “I wanted to be in an environment where people enjoy what they’re doing, and where patients are happy to go. I believe we can make a huge difference in a child’s life because straight teeth give such a confidence boost. And with adults, redesigning smiles makes them appear more youthful and self-assured, which improves their social and work life.”
She also enjoys the collaborative care the ARCH team offers patients, where colleagues often meet to discuss best options and treatments with a goal of exceptional care.
Dr. Best first decided she wanted to be an Orthodontist when she was about 8. “My front teeth were embarrassingly crooked, and so I was teased at school,” she recalls. “My uncle, an Orthodontist, put me in braces to align my top four front teeth, and as a result, I was able to chew food more easily and couldn’t stop smiling. A few years later, I got my second, complete round of braces, and again, I was so proud of my smile when I finished treatment. I am incredibly grateful for the positive changes that Orthodontics made in my life, and so I have wanted for a long time to bring these same improvements to others.”
Dr. Best mainly practices at ARCH’s Hyde Park and Hyannis offices, offering treatment in both English and Spanish.
Outside the office, Dr. Best is an avid runner and has completed numerous marathons and triathlons. She also likes to travel, eat delicious food, play the piano, sing in the choir, and spend time with her husband and family.
