Dr. Nicholas Barone
Nicholas Paul Barone, DMD, is originally from Rhode Island where he met Dr. Chavez while completing his dental school residency. The friendship led to Dr. Barone joining the ARCH team in 2012. Today, you’ll find him treating patients and perfecting smiles at ARCH’s Cape Cod offices in Hyannis and Orleans.
As it turns out, Orthodontics is in Dr. Barone’s genetics. His father is also an Orthodontist in Rhode Island. Seeing his father’s ability to help patients find their confidence and a new smile was a catalyst for him to pursue the same career path. “I always respected and admired his role in the community,” he said.
Dr. Barone also understands what it’s like to undergo Orthodontic treatment as he, along with his mother and sister, all wore braces. He faithfully endured and wore his headgear and elastics, in part because his Orthodontist sat across from him each evening at the dinner table.
Dr. Barone also follows in his father’s footsteps in the active role he plays within the community. He enjoys teaching and tutoring future dentists and hygienists. He also volunteers with the Mission of Mercy. Dr. Barone has helped countless patients smile brighter through a mission trip to Ecuador and volunteer work with Bridge over Troubled Waters in Boston, the Samuels Dental Center in Providence, and an externship at St. Joseph’s Children’s Dental Clinic. He was awarded the Austin Scholarship for Community Outreach while studying at Tufts University.
What makes being an Orthodontist so rewarding? For Dr. Barone, it’s all about the long term relationships he forms with patients of all ages seeking straighter smiles.
“You really get to know these patients and watch them grow. They’re making a positive investment that lasts a lifetime. It’s such a great opportunity to be a part of their growth and change. It goes beyond just straightening teeth,” said Dr. Barone.
When he has free time, Dr. Barone enjoys spending it with his growing family. You might also find him golfing, hiking, and skiing.
