Life is busy! Don’t we know it! Between work and after-school activities and household tasks, it seems there is very little time left for anything else– even having a bit of fun!
ARCH Orthodontics wants to help. We now have added a full range of pediatric dental services at our Stoughton office so you can keep your kids’ teeth healthy at the same location you are getting them straightened! Plus, our amazingly accommodating and friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere let you take a break from the rat-race and enjoy some time smiling and laughing with your children.
Our dental services are designed especially for kids so they are comfortable and never scary. But if your little one does feel frightened or nervous for any reason, we have special training to communicate and soothe along with pediatric sedation options to help anyone relax.
Healthy Smile, Healthy Mind, Healthy Body
You may think of baby teeth as expendable. They’ll fall out and be replaced when the adult teeth come in, after all.
We’re here to let you know that healthy and strong primary teeth are a vital part of your child’s health and wellness. It’s why we celebrate baby teeth!
Oral health problems can cause major problems for kids in school, both in academic performance and socially.
Chronic pain from caries, gum infections, or decay can make focusing in class difficult and lead to increased absences. In fact, according to the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services, more than 51 million school hours are lost each year to dental related illness.
Kids also have a hard time socially, especially if they are feeling embarrassed about missing or decayed teeth. And those missing teeth can also leave adult teeth without the proper space for eruption leading to further pain and embarrassment.
What’s more, oral health issues have been proven to be linked to general health issues. Disease and inflammation in the mouth causes inflammation in the body, and that can lead to a host of physical issues – even increased obesity!
In addition, cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease can lead to:
- Early loss of teeth
- Speech development problems
- Poor nutrition because of painful chewing
- Sleep disturbances and a lack of rest
- Behavioral problems as an effect of chronic pain
- Poorly formed, crowded, or misaligned adult teeth
Clearly, even caring for baby teeth is important!
